                                                Honey cake 

"A delicious honey cake with coconut."

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 1 cup white sugar 
  • 1 cup white flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 3 teaspoons honey
  • 2 teaspoons flaked coconut  
Directions:
  1. In a small bowl, mix together 1/2 cup of the yogurt and baking soda and stir until the yogurt increase its volume and set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, blend together the flour, white sugar, the egg, cinnamon and the rest 1/2 cup of the yogurt  and mix well.
  3. Add yogurt and baking soda mixture and mix well.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven to 180 degrees C for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
  5. Spread the hot cake with honey and sprinkle over the flaked coconut.


                                         Apple cake 

"This traditional Bulgarian Apple cake is easy to prepare and absolutely delicious. Hope you enjoy it!"

Ingredients:  
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 1 cup vegetable oil 
  • 3 cups white flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder 
  • 1-2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 6-7 apple - peeled, cored and grated
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Directions:

  1. In a large bowl, beat eggs and sugar on high speed with an electric mixer. Add oil and blend in.
  2. Sift together flour and baking powder and mix well with the mixture of eggs and sugar.
  3. Blend together cinnamon, peeled and grated apples and chopped walnuts and add to the mixture. 
  4. Mix well and place the mixture into baking form.
  5. Bake at 180 degrees C for 50 - 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into center of the cake comes out clean. 
  6. Sprinkle powder sugar over the baked cake.

               Easy and delicious stuffed mushrooms

Ingredients
  • 500 gr mushrooms
  • 100 gr butter 
  • 100 gr yellow cheese

Directions
Remove stems from the mushrooms and set stems aside. Place mushrooms, hollow sides up and brush the insides with butter (not melted butter). Place a piece of yellow cheese into each mushroom cap and place into a small baking dish. 
Bake in the preheated oven until mushrooms are tender and the cheese is golden, about 20 minutes.

Christmas time


                                         
Bulgarian Christmas Bread 


Ingredients:

  • 20 gr. yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt 
  • 1 kg flour 
  • 1/2 cup oil 
  • 500 ml water
Direction 
1. Melt the yeast, the sugar and the salt in the water 
2. When the yeast is ready add the oil.
3. Stir in the flour and start kneading until the dough is ready and does not sticky on your fingers.
4. Leave the dough in the room's temperature until it rises its size at least double
5. Spread the dough in a greased pan 
6. Bake at 180 Centigrade for minimum 30 minutes
7. Spread a little cold water drops over the entire bread and cover with towel until the bread become cold   
  * If you want you can make decorations on the bread using part of the dough before baking.
